What is the nicest gift you have ever received from a student, parent, or teacher?

None of us are in the profession to get gifts, but nonetheless, it does feel good when someone recognizes you. The nicest gifts I've recieved are the letters I get from students every year. At the end of each school year, our seniors write a letter to one faculty member saying goodbye. Because of my personality, a lot of students don't think I keep the letters, but I have every one I have ever received in a folder in my office. Students have gotten me gifts like the tie and the trophy I got last year, but the sincere letters that no one else gets to see really make an impact on me. Students have told me that I have helped them: become a better person, believe in themselves more, accomplish more than they thought they could, and one said they hope they can be as good of a teacher as I am someday. They don't have write a letter at all, but everyone of the students that have written to me on their way out of high school has helped to keep me motivated to work as hard as I possibly can for them. Just seeing that they care keeps me going hard.
