Introduction

I was born and raised in Millville, NJ and graduated from Millville High School in 1998. I graduated from Seton Hall University in 2002 with a degree in mathematics. I was a high school math teacher and wrestling coach in Millville from 2002-2016. In 2016 I became the STEM Supervisor at Cedar Creek High School in Egg Harbor City, NJ.

Professional

Goals

I have wanted to be a STEM supervisor for a while and was given an opportunity to do this at Cedar Creek High School in 2016. Although I have no ambition to move to another administrative position right now, I also didn't want to leave the classroom for the majority of my time as a teacher, so I guess time will tell.

Beliefs

I believe that the biggest problem with STEM education is there is too much focus on how to do things and not enough on why they are done that way. If more focus is put on why things work the way they do and why the process is the way it is, more people will appreciate and enjoy mathematics and its applications.

Highlights

I am extremely proud of my former students from Millville High School. The records the AP Calculus classes achieved through hard work and determination make me proud to be associated with them. Some of them are already doing great things post-college, and many more are on their way...don't forget your favorite teacher when you're rich and famous!

Personal

Family

I have been married to Roberta since 2013 and our son/best friend Dominick was born in 2015. Dominick is excited to be a big brother around September 15th. We each have two sisters and our collection of neices and nephews is growing quickly (although all from her sisters). I am extremely close to my parents and sisters and hope to build my family in that image.

Interests

I really love being at the beach with my family, especially when Dominick's cousins are around to play with us. I follow a variety of sports, but am really into wrestling, college basketball, and soccer right now.
